How do we protect vendors from this experience?

Please be wary of a promoter of Bargainmania in or around Columbus OH.  Teresa Felix may have just goofed, but honest mistake or no, her blunder cost many respectable vendors an significant opportunity to earn during one of the most important shopping holidays of the year.  How can we vendors protect our fellow vendors and promoters from repeating this error?

Hundreds of vendors were impacted by this and left wondering how this can be avoided in the future which already seems gloomy?  How can we protect ourselves?  Please advise.  Thank you.

Sincerely,  Stoic yet Bruised

I find it very helpful to get a list of previous vendors from the promoter.  A number of times the promoter has made different excuses about how they don’t have that list, but they all do.  I just tell the promoter that I won’t do the show unless I have a list from their previous show.  I then hit the email or call a number of the vendors.  This way I get informatio straight from the vendor, rather than a promoter who is just interested in filling their show.
