Diane’s Designs

I design 12-inch and 18-inch doll clothes, using only remnants and recycled fabric. The only items purchased have been Velcro, zippers, and a few trims. It is very important to me that my products honor and protect the precious resources of our earth. Items are made from old bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses, estate sale dressing gowns, window curtains, shower curtains, torn scarves, broken umbrellas, donated clothing, and dresses that my five sisters and I wore as far back as the 1950s. No two items are ever alike, no matter how many years separate their production. All dresses come with a shawl, a bag, or a hair ornament. The best part of starting a new project is seeing, touching, and feeling the fabric. The best part of finishing a project is seeing the face of little girls as they discover them. For this reason, my products are priced low; I want little girls to be able to afford them.
