Handmade Jewelry Ideas for Art and Craft Shows

March 2019

More and more people are looking for jewelry that isn't mainstream. They want something that's unique and stands out. There are a variety of new jewelry trends as spring approaches.

Leather Drop Dangle Earrings

A hot new trend this year are leather teardrop dangle earrings. The leather is available in a wide variety of colors and can be cut with a craft cutter, such as a Silhouette Cameo. A variety of intricate patterns and other adornments can be added to create unique pieces.

Shell Rings

If you live near the coast or have access to unique cowrie shells, they look great on silver bands. For those who love the beach and what to take a piece of them with them no matter where they go, these rings are the perfect gift. You can also create sets and sell rings with earrings or necklaces.

Keep It Simple

Simple gold hoops with crystals or stones are very popular. Sometimes you don't need an elaborate piece of jewelry. Simple can be incredibly tasteful and elegant. Create sets of earrings and pendants for a matching set.

Go Chunky

You can never go wrong with chunky necklaces. Go elaborate and for the big ticket prices by combining an abundance of stones and beads for a thick and chunky necklace. Combine different stones and beads to create unique piece.

Go For Layers with Leather

Layered leather bracelets are very popular. Combine different colors and textures with accents with beads, metal pieces and rivet beads.

Stamped Silver

Stamped silver jewelry remains a popular trend. Bracelets and necklaces with stamped names, birthdays, and quotes are very popular. Because stamped pieces make great gifts, they are the perfect opportunity for custom orders and requests.

Men's Jewelry

Men wear jewelry too but they like their pieces to be functional. Take advantage of the paracord trend and incorporate something unique such as a fishing hook or carabiner.

Geometric Shapes

Minimalist geometry is a hot trend. Hoop earrings made from geometric shapes such as triangles are popular. Gold, sterling silver and rose gold are all popular options. Add to your pieces by incorporating geometric beads in contrasting colors as well.

With any piece of unique jewelry, be sure to package it and present your items in a professional way. Show off the fact that you handcraft your own pieces. Handmade jewelry is a great way to create meaningful gifts for people as well as show off your uniqueness as an artist.

Comments

I would like to propose an idea to also have vendors who sell vintage jewelry which may or may not be handmade. There is a big market for vintage and/or antique jewelry.
I would love to participate. I have a large, wonderful vintage and antique collection that is dying to have a good home!
Please contact me if you think my idea could be incorporated into a fair or festival.

Thank you.

I am interested in becoming a vendor at your event. I recently moved to Boise,  from Washington state. I’ve been making wire wrap jewelry for 12 years,  and feel this would be a
great opportunity to establish myself as a crafter
and artesian.
Any info on becoming a vendor would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time
